Sudipta was born in Mumbai, India and went to school in Mumbai, Baghdad and Calcutta. He received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a concentration in Power Engineering from Nagpur University, India in 2005. He is currently pursuing a M.S. degree in Electrical Power Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia. During his senior year as an undergraduate student, Sudipta worked with West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency in feasibility studies and system planning for power systems supplied by solar, wind and diesel power generating sources. His industry experience consists of internships at Tata Power Company Ltd., a utility company in Mumbai, India and the Electric Traction department at Amtrak, Philadelphia.
Sudipta’s research interests include power system stability. He is currently working on stability analysis of a shipboard power system modeled as a hybrid system.
