Solar Thermal Systems

The reliable and economic operation of a solar thermal beating and cooling system depends on the control system and particularly the control strategy. Our work has concentrated on improving the performance and cost effectiveness of active solar cooling and heating systems by developing alternate control strategies. We have developed accurate dynamic models for evaluating the various components (such as collector, transport, storage, an chiller) and validated item experimentally . These models were used to develop an interactive computer-aided design program to investigate various control strategies.
